Delivered Complete, Ready to Operate

TurboPierce is a piercing tool for ultra-high-pressure (UHP) firefighting. The system consists of two primary components: a gun and a 39-pound pressure amplifier. The pressure amplifier is powered by fire engine handline flow. A standard 1.5 to 2.5 inch inlet hose fitting, installed on the low-pressure side of the amplifier, receives the handline. Hose flow is routed through a sculpted bifurcated nozzle that spins a turbine, which is directly coupled to a high-pressure pump. A quick-connect coupling attaches the gun to the amplifier’s high-pressure outlet line. The overall design eliminates the need for a heavy pump motor, skid, electronics, or extra vehicle. The gun can also be used independently of the pressure amplifier if the department elects to plug it into an existing UHP rig.

Description

A lightweight piercing system for UHP firefighting consisting of a water-turbine- driven pressure amplifier (weighing less than 40-pounds and having no greater dimension than 16.5 inches) and a handheld gun.   The system will not use any electrical or wireless components.

Gun

The piercing gun will utilize suction for abrasive garnet mixing.  Mixing will take place at the end of the gun barrel and not require abrasive to be “pushed”, as a high-speed wear element, through any hose or extremity external to the gun.  The abrasive material will be housed in a quick-change magazine.  The magazine will be an integral component of the gun shoulder-stock.

TurboDrive

The turbine-driven pressure amplifier will weigh less than 40-pounds and will be equipped with a 1.5 to 2.5 inch interchangeable inlet hose fitting.  The supply water from the fire engine will spin a turbine that directly drives a high-pressure pump.  Handline flow will power the pressure amplifier and will not require a separate power source (electric, diesel, gasoline, or PTO).
